Inspired by nature’s elements, aimara.studio fosters longevity through unique practices and experiences to sustainably build mobility, strength, balance, and mind resilience.
The lighting concept reflects the above principles through bespoke fixtures in raw materials, such as metal and paper, recycled decorative luminaires sourced from local markets, attention to integrated details and warm colour temperatures.
Within the space, natural daylight floods the Juicery from the street, then gradually softens as it moves inward, filtering through the entrance hall to the changing areas, and separately reaching the functional gym through the glass-brick internal window. This distribution of light encourages members to reset their senses, shift their focus inward, and gently detach from the outside world.
The Juicery acts as a key transitional threshold between the sanctuary of the members’ area and the exterior environment. During the day, a brighter lighting scene supports the abundant daylight entering through the expansive windows, preparing visitors for the more subdued atmosphere of the members’ areas beyond. At night, this relationship subtly reverses: artificial lighting is reduced, allowing the Juicery to become comparatively darker than the gym, easing the transition back toward the exterior darkness.
Rather than adhering to a strict circadian lighting model, the design embraces a philosophy of slowing down, applicable at any time of day and across transitional spaces. an intense “daylight” setting - even in the morning - can feel overly stimulating in a wellness context, so the lighting scheme is shaped to support calm, recovery, and bodily awareness through sensory calibration.
